Description of Kosta Boda Nero Carafe, Conical
Generous, elegant, functional and easy to hold ¿ that's Anne Nilsson's modern carafe concept for wine and water. Nero consists of three sturdy shapes with graphite grey texture and a hand-painted platinum stripe for a graphic expression. The carafes are simple and restrained, yet provocative in their size.Swedish glass artist Anne Nilsson designed the 2004 Nero carafe for Kosta Boda in three variations. Suitable for holding water or wine, each model features a swath of graphite gray at the neck that is pleasantly textured to ensure a good grip when pouring. Below that lies a hand-painted band of platinum, adding a luminous touch of luxury to the elegantly thin glass. The carafes also double as modernist vases when not in use serving drinks.
This particular Nero model is conical in shape, much like a laboratory beaker, but with a stylishly slanted top. The juxtaposition of sharp angles and rounded base gives the carafe a dramatic presentation. Standing approximately 10-3/4 inches tall, the carafe makes an excellent gift for those who appreciate good Scandinavian design, especially from renowned Kosta Boda.
